A ride on the river..

we took our newly acquired boat out for an evening ride 

on the river the other night and it was soooo relaxing.  

In fact, it must have been a little too relaxing for little Jonah, 

cuz he slept through most of it!

Opening Day!

Fishing is a favorite summer (and winter) pastime of my mostly Scandinavian family,
so it is only natural that Fishing Opener is a BIG event every year.  

We headed "Up North" - "ya, ya you betch ya!" for the weekend and the men got up very early 

Saturday morning to get out on the lake before it got too busy.  

They stayed out til dark and didn't catch much but had an enjoyable, 

sunshine-filled day in each others' company...

with no worries of whiny kids or ladies who need bathroom breaks ;)

Sunday we took the kids out on Seth's new boat and went for a fast ride around a new lake.

The kids (and myself) really loved going fast!

We brought our camera but forgot the CF Card  :'(

Time

is sneaking unknowingly by me...

Jonah is now 8, yes, e-i-g-h-t months old!  

Wow, I am sad yet excited that he will be crawling some day soon, 

and gone will be the days of his reliance on me to get where he needs to go.
