The Henning wedding
Johan went out to ND a few weeks ago to shoot his cousins wedding and these were some of my fav shots of them. Enjoy!
A Very Merry 3M Christmas!
This year I asked Grandma to come with me and the kids to the 3M Christmas Party...it was lots of fun and the kids got some AMAZING gifts and yummy treats along with their faces painted and a picture with Santa (not the real one, of course)!

raw meat anyone?
Johan made almost an entire deer into venison BILTONG...
a.k.a hanging raw slabs of deer meat that has been soaked overnight in vinegar, salt and spices up in a warm dry room which results in a South African jerky "biltong"

this is how our front porch looked for a couple weeks during deer hunting....
it did not smell very nice (bloody meat smell is not the best way to attract a buyer) :-0

MONOTONY?
nope, not here. will there ever be an end to
Adon's daily fort-building..
finding dirty mismatched socks under & behind every crevice no matter how many times I pick them up..
Zian's continual singing under her breath while she does whatever work she is "supposed" to be doing...
Jonah's letting you think he will sleep through the night this time but surprising you with an 'ALL-NIGHTER'...
food stuck on the newly cleaned dishes when you open the dishwasher because someone "forgot" to rinse their plate yet again...
needing the 1 ingredient that you're out of right in the middle of a recipe..
wiping sticky hands 10 times a day and wondering how in the world they always seem to get sticky again just 5 minutes after..
that growing stack of mail that nobody wants to deal with..
the endless piles of laundry waiting for me the second I think I'm "done" for the day...

The bucks the Men shot
Our annual Nelson Thanksgiving was this past weekend up in Hinkley and the men stayed at the cabin while the women decided to stay home with the kids until Sunday. Then we all met together for the FABULOUS Thanksgiving meal Sunday afternoon to talk about who shot what, homeschooling, and everybody's health (etc.)
This was a proud moment for Seth and Johan
(although bigger bucks were shot last year).
They did a great job and we are very thankful for the meat (which usually feeds us until next hunting season)!
Also, we got an extra doe this year so that Johan could make one ENTIRE deer into BILTONG...which Zian is very excited about since it's her favorite snck of all time :)

Carlson's Orchard
Some of these posts are out of order since I haven't had much time to blog or edit photos in the past month. The day before I went into labor we all took a trip to the Orchard for some fresh apple pie and a hay ride out to pick our own apples to take home...it was a gorgeous day and lots of FUN FUN FUN!

matching hats
My grandma Alice knitted both these hats for the baby before we knew what it was. Naturally, Zian inherited the pink one after Jonah came. She couldn't wait to get it on her baby doll.
