I'm still here.
I haven't disappeared into oblivion...
yet.
So sorry for the time lapse since my last post.
B U S Y doesn't come close.
doesn't even touch it.
There are people I want to call,
families I want to invite over,
games I would like to play,
songs I would like to learn,
school books to be corrected,
floors that need to be scrubbed...
and I'm very very much Behind (that's right, with a capital B)!
Between meals, dishes, laundry, naps (no, not mine)
dog, photo editing, activity running, church going,
errand accomplishing, emailing...
there just isn't enough time in one day now is there?!?
BUT
My pastor said something profound in last Sunday's sermon
(while I was serving on Worship team for 3 services, whew!)
He said one day when you look back on these years with your kids
it will be empty.
IF
you're not spending time with them speaking blessings into their lives
and leading them to Christ every single day by example.
WOW.
what a thought.
Can we look at our busy crazy lives and say that every day is spent that way??
It's time for me to WAKE UP!
and not let the world around me shape
what kind of Mother I am to my children.
There is a very small yet very powerful word that we all need to say together:
"NO"
say it slowly with me....
"I DO NOT NEED TO DO EVERYTHING AND CAN'T."
Whew! I feel better, do you? :)
"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
God, please take the wheel again, and forgive me for grabbing it away from you.
I do not know better than you and never will. Steer my every step and give me your strength
to do what needs to be done. Carry me through.
I trust you and only you with my future, my household,
and my life.
~ Amen
